- How you can help by donating....
-
- Our Mission Statement
- The American European Greyhound Alliance,
Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated solely to the welfare
of Greyhounds in the United States and abroad. The American-European
Greyhound Alliance, Inc. accomplishes its mission through active
and on-going monitoring of existing and proposed racing venues,
liaising with racing industry and adoption groups, providing
an effective source of collection and dissemination of accurate
information, and education of the public as to the suitability
of the Greyhound as an adopted companion animal. AEGA, Inc. will
maintain and rehabilitate several Greyhounds at a time in the
United States and Europe. These will be dogs with special needs,
i.e. broken legs, medical problems, etc. The goal is to get them
ready for adoption.
-
- Our I.R.S. non-profit identification
number is 04-3490964 and your contribution is tax-deductible.

Donations........
-
- You can also easily donate to AEGA
by using your credit card at Paypal.com and sending your donation
to: donations@ameurogreyhoundalliance.org
or by clicking on the "VISA/MC DONATE" link below. Please note if you would like
your donation directed to a specific group or country. Otherwise
donations will be used for the dogs in greatest need.
-
-
-
Other donations.....
- In addition to monetary donations,
items donated directly for the comfort and safety of the Greyhounds
in need in Europe are especially appreciated. The shelters and
adoption centers that care for the Greyhounds can always use
more supplies for the hounds. These do not need to be new. Please
consider donating your Greyhound's older coat or collar if you
buy him a new one. Some of the items that they can use are:
- safety collars and leashes
- first aid supplies
- canine medicines
- dog coats
|
- Heavy items, like dog food, usually
don't make sense to send over. In that case, purchasing food
from a website that ships to the shelters overseas or just donating
cash would make more sense. Please call Louise at 508-435-5969
or email us if you have any questions about the suitability
of an item you wish to donate.
-
- Other non-Greyhound related items can
also be donated and auctioned on Ebay to help raise funds.
-
-
- Other Groups collecting
items for overseas Greyhounds, Lurchers and Galgos....
-
- While The American-European Greyhound
Alliance sends monetary donations and supplies to several sanctuaries
and shelters in various parts of the world, there are also other
groups that collect items too.
-
- Greyhounds as
Companions collects supplies such as
collars and muzzles and coats and send them to shelters in Spain.

- Coats Needed for Spanish
Greyhounds.....
-
- Everyone,
-
- In large part due to international
pressure, there has been some amazing headway made into the appalling
conditions at Spain's last remaining track, Meridiana, in Barcelona.
Two kennels have outfitted their crates with carpeting, where
previously greyhounds laid on bare floor through all seasons.
-
- Even more exciting, some of the greyhound
owners have agreed to put donated coats on their greyhounds (this
offer had been declined in the past - too much work). We feel
that this is a foot in the door to try to get coats on all 700
Meridiana greyhounds.
Barcelona in the north of Spain is mighty chilly this time of
year, and there is no heat or cooling in the kennels. So, you
guessed it! A coat drive is on to try to get 700 coats to send
to Meridiana. Please spread the word!! Check your greyhounds'
closets and send all castoffs to me at:
