Follow until end and turn left onto main Street. Rte 2 East to exit 8. Take a right off the exit and follow until the end. Take a left onto Main Street. The Hubbard Green is located near the corner of Main Street and Hubbard Street, just south of downtown Glastonbury. There is parking all along Green Cemetery Road, off of Hubbard St. near the corner of Hubbard & Main. If all of those spots are taken, overflow parking is down Hubbard Street at the high school. There is no parking allowed along Hubbard St. or Main St., and if you park on any side streets, you may be towed. Fido & Whiskers' Big Day Out is an exciting free event for local pets and their owners on Hubbard Green in Glastonbury. The day will include agility course demonstrations by Central K-9 along with opportunities for local pets to try out the course; photos of pets with their owners by Sarah McCoy Photography; a Blessing of the Animals led by Glastonbury pastor Eric Stillman, competitions sponsored by Free Range Doggy Daycare & Hidden Fencing with celebrity judge Rachel Lutzker of WFSB-3 and The River 105.9, Draw Your Pet competitions sponsored by Melzen Farm Supply, demonstrations, raffles, prizes, and much more! Location: Christ Church Cathedral - 420 Sparks Street Directions to event:  Join us on Saturday, October 27th and meet some retired racing Greyhounds up close and chat with their adoptive families. Learn more about these canine athletes, enjoy a hot dog, hang out and have some fun. Start the day by joining the Greyhound Walkathon along Wellington Street, visit the vendor booths for doggy-related merchandise, get your pup(s) all “gussied-up” at our toenail clipping & painting salon, and light a candle at our Rainbow Bridge Memorial to celebrate the memory of a departed pet. Afterwards, drop in at the Find-A Grey booth to learn about this greyhound "lost and found" initiative. Visit the Greyhounds and their Relatives booth to view illustrations and information on greyhounds and many of their relatives. Learn about the Race for Adoption Program, a program in which active racing greyhounds race for the direct support of adoption groups and you can read all about Follow That Hound - a greyhound pre-adoption program. Some of the vendors that will be on-site include: Barking Biscuit Company, Casual Bling, Chilly Dogs, Cozy Critters, Greyt Expectations, Hounds-R-Us, The Pawstry Chef, and more. Funds raised at Greyhound Planet Day will go to support tick-borne research.
